Who We Are

THE FACTORS THAT LEAD TO S.K.E. SOCIETY:

During the year 1970, the people of Sindhanur in Raichur district were lagging behind in education. For the ordinary people, it was very difficult to educate their children including the children of rich people too. A few rich people sent their children to far off places for education. Basic facilities like roads, water, health and education were not available. Even in villages, no one was there to take care of these people, particularly farmers. In this context, some of the educated people tried to open schools to educate their children. But it was very difficult to provide minimum basic facilities to the children and teachers. However, they continued to run primary schools and higher primary schools. It was a great task for them as this private institutions faced many difficulties for getting permission by the government. Naturally the children, who had studied, did not get admission for further education in Government schools and colleges due to the technical problems like recognition of the schools.

A PROGRESSIVE THOUGHT:

The circumstances lead the educated farmers, enthusiastic youngsters together to think of opening an education institution in taluka place which will be convenient for all the people with  the facility of food, shelter and good teaching. When the thought of naming the institution, the name of the king SRIKRISHNADEVARAYA, who safeguarded our nation, our religion from foreign invaders, cross border enemies and guarded our rich national culture and heritage and built the wealthy kingdom and won the hearts of Kannadigas and Telugu people. Thinking that this was the right name and it was named as SRIKRISHNADEVARYA VIDHYA SAMSTHE.

A STEP AHEAD:

In order to be away  from the polluted city, and should not be too far away from the city, started the institution at Sripuram junction, only 4 Kms away from Sindhanur in the academic year 1984-85. During the first year, only primary school was started and later on high school was started. In the beginning, the medium of instruction was both in Telugu and Kannada. English was introduced later as a medium of instruction to meet the needs of the children. Today the children of all the communities and of all languages with different socio- economic status are studying in this institution.

AN ISO CERTIFIED INSTITUTION:

The institution is recently endowed with an ISO certification for meeting the prescribed standards set by the Indian Standard Organization. This certification made the institution to be more responsible in imparting quality education.

What We Do

P.U. COLLEGE:

Keeping in view of the growing demands and needs, PUC Course (Science & Commerce) was started during the academic year 2002-03 and is running successfully and became a trend – setter in PU results in Hyderabad  – Karnataka region.

This institution is providing scholarships and free education for meritorious students, especially belongs to  Hyderabad  – Karnataka region. Hundreds  of students utilized this facility so far.

Recently, the institution launched a new scheme named “ Child Adoption Scheme”, under which the students who scores above 80% in SSLC exam will be given free admission to PU course and students with above 93% will be given free admission to PUC course with free hostel facility.

The institution is providing all the necessary amenities and infrastructural  facilities to the students with the help of donars from the society. This institution aims at holistic development of the child and hence we are training the child in curricular and co-curricular activities, such as drawing, painting, music, dance, essay writing etc, so as to meet the global challenges. The role of a teacher in this regard is very important and hence we are appointing well qualified, dedicated teachers with good salaries as per Government norms and the teachers are provided with potential professional training every year. This institution hosted several Taluk, and District level training programmes to the teachers in various subjects by inviting eminent resources persons like Dr C.V. Patil, Director, Dharwad University, Dr.Parameshwarappa, Professor, Bangalore University, Dr C.D. Patil, honorable Secretary, State Science Committee, Dr. Gururaj Kharjegi etc.

AIM AND VISION:

The aim of this institution is not making money, but giving quality education to middle and lower sections of the society. It not only bothers about scoring high marks but also giving them well culture and value based education. For the physical fitness and the mental development, proper training is given. Strong attempt is made to motivate interest in poetry, art, culture etc. More emphasis is given for science teaching and developing scientific attitude. In a nut shell, our aim is to make you the first impression what you feel while entering the campus and should be the same even after leaving the campus, after the successful completion of the course.

UNIQUE FLORA OF THE CAMPUS:

The institution has twenty acres of land near Hosalli Camp, out of which 12 acres is utilized for school and college construction. Hostel building accommodates around 600 students with modern facilities like play ground, well furnished dining room, computer lab, separate play ground for volley ball and throw ball. 3 acres of land is utilized for lake to store drinking water throughout the year. The children are given purified water for drinking. Remaining eight acres of land is kept for future development. Whole 20 acres of land has fencing to protect the children and the rich flora of the campus. The institution is well connected with roads and good transport facility. The campus is with full of trees and greenery which look like a GURUKULA, the ancient system of Indian education.

ABOUT THE BEST HOSTEL:

            There is a separate arrangement for boys and girls in the hostel. For the cultural activities there is a dais. The statue of Sri Krishnadevaraya adds beauty to the institution.

The children are given healthy food as advised by the nutritionist. A food plan is  framed and  food will be supplied accordingly.

Fresh vegetables are used daily. Every student gets 250 grams of milk products   (ragi malt + curd). Food facility will also be provided to day-scholars, if they require. Vehicle arrangement is made to pickup students from different areas. For the hostel inmates, exercise, karate, yoga, jogging etc., are being conducted regularly. A trained teacher is appointed to take  care of physical and mental fitness of the children. Dhobi will clean and get iron the clothes of hostel students. On first Sunday of every month, a barber takes care of hair cut of boys, where as ayah takes care of girl students.

Classical dance coaching is given by an experienced teacher.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS:

            For the last eight consecutive years, percentage of pass in SSLC is 100% and for last five  years passing percentage of PUC is also 100 %.

In sports, the students represented the Taluka, District and State level sports and games competition.

PARENT VISIT:

            On second Sunday, the parents may visit the hostel and enquire the staff about the progress of their children. On third Sunday, there will be a meeting of governing body council, where the needs of the students and progress of the school and college will be discussed.

RURAL QUOTA:

As our school and college are located in the village limits of Hosalli (EJ), the students of this institution are eligible for Rural Quota as per the Karnataka Government rules. This is very beneficial to the students for their higher studies as well as getting jobs.

WE SALUTE:

We salute and have high regards towards hundreds of education lovers who have rendered their services physically, economically and mentally for the development of this institution. Specially, the Founder President Sri K.Papa Rao (A farmer and business man), Sri Dr.D. Radha Krishna, Sri N. Koteshwara Rao (a famous advocate), Sri Dr. C. Bhasker Rao, whose services were worth noting.

We also remember the services of lecturers and teachers, who shaped this institution in to a big one. Among them, Sri. Shivananda (PE teacher), Smt. Tulasi, Smt. Nirmala, Sri Sitaramaiah, Smt. Dorti Peter, Sri. David Sundaram, Sri. K. Appa Rao (all are the head of the institution), Sri. Sharanu Hiremath, Sri S.A. Rasool (both are administrative officers), Sri Raghavendra, Sri .I.G Angadi (lecturers) and Sri. K. R. Raju (Manager) are worth mentioning.

We sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the valuable service of Mr. Shanmukha Rao (former Principal), Mr. Patan Jakeer Basha (present Principal), Mr.H.G. Hampanna (Sr. lecturer), Mr. Raju Ragi, Mr. Maddilety.A, (lecturers), Mrs. Sujatha.U.R, Chandrakala (Asst. Teachers). The above mentioned staff played a vital role in transforming the institution and made a brand of its own kind.

Our intention is to make this institution a model one. So the young blood is brought in along with the experienced ones. All are striving hard to make this institute as a number No:-1.
